Since entering the market in the 1990’s, Whitby & Chandler Ltd has emerged as one of the leading suppliers in gaskets, seals and rubber mouldings to the T & D Industry.
The key material has, undoubtedly, been SCC1120 CorkRubber (now re-branded as TD1120) and this remains as one of the best and most cost-effective Transformer Corks in the market place. Over the years, other grades such as SG700 (now TD7000), for low temperature applications, have been added and now form part of a base of six core materials to cover most T & D applications. A range of Anti-Vibration Cork materials is also readily available, along with technical assistance to help achieve maximum efficiency in the area of vibration reduction and noise attenuation.
Add to this a full range of gasket materials, including standard and bespoke rubber moulding compounds, and it can be seen that Whitby & Chandler Ltd has a portfolio of products to meet all the needs of the T & D Sector, and which is the envy of competitors throughout the world.
In partnership with Amorim Cork Composites, one of the world’s major manufacturers of industrial corkrubber sheeting, Whitby & Chandler Ltd worked hard to gain approvals from internationally-renowned companies such as ABB, Areva, Pauwels Trafo and Schneider Electric, to name just a few. In 2007, this association was formalised when Whitby & Chandler was appointed Amorim’s official T & D Distributor for Europe and South America.
TD1120Compounded with a special Nitrile Rubber (NBR), this material has become perhaps the world’s most popular ‘Transformer Cork.’ It is suitable for most transformer oils and high-distortion flanges at application temperatures. TD14049Compounded with Nitrile Rubber (NBR) and suitable for most transformer oils at application temperatures. TD1310Compounded with a special Nitrile Rubber (NBR), this material is suitable for most transformer oils and has an outstanding resistance to low temperatures. TD7000Although compounded with Silicone Rubber (VMQ), this material is still suitable for most transformer oils where there is a need for resistance to extreme temperatures. TD3510Compounded with Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer rubber (EPDM), this material is suitable for use with SF6 gas at application temperatures. |
TD 7110
Compounded with a blend of rubbers – Nitrile and Epichlorohydrin (NBR/ECO) – this material is Suitable for vapour phase processes and is compatible with most transformer oils at application temperatures. VC2100An engineered anti-vibration cork compounded with synthetic rubber. It is suitable for most transformer oils, has an outstanding resistance to extreme temperatures and is specially designed to isolate the transformer core from the tank, minimising the structure-borne noise. VC6400An engineered anti-vibration cork compounded with synthetic rubber. It is suitable for most transformer oils, has an outstanding resistance to extreme temperatures and is specially designed to isolate the transmission of vibrations when used as external pads. |
